Season’s Greetings : Spring

October 5, 2015

(Okay, so I know we’re a whole month+ now into spring but time got away from me. So I’m posting this spring appreciation post now. Better late than never and what not.)

Spring. It’s when things start happening again. Everything lies dormant and quiet in winter, hiding from the wind and the rain. Then the days start to get lighter and warm up and everything jolts back to life and restarts.

This is what spring sounds like to me…Kids playing and giggling. Dogs barking. Birds phwit-phwit-phwitting. The smell of sunscreen. Talkback radio playing as someone potters around in their shed. Lawn mowers chirring away, adding that delicious freshly-cut grass smell to the mix.

Here’s what spring looks like to me…

Spring - Red Bottle BrushSpring 15 - FreesiasSpring 15 - Bird on WireWhich is your favourite season? What is the weather like where you are? What do you like best about it? I think there’s something nice to be found in all the seasons, don’t you?

      1. Thank you, Isabel! I’m pretty excited ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s just such a happy time of year. What is it like over in Nanjing at the moment?

        1. It’s getting cooler. Kind of an in-between period between summer and autumn. The trees haven’t gone red yet, but I can’t wait for that…lots of nice photo opportunities! I’m told late Oct/Nov is the best time to be in China…we shall see! Enjoy your spring sunshine.

          1. Ooh that in-between period is a good one, I think! And yes, those beautiful red trees should definitely allow for some excellent photo ops ๐Ÿ˜€ Looking forward to it. Thanks Isabel! Sadly I’ve been stuck inside an office all day without even a window to look out of! But I’m about to head home so I might go for a walk to stretch my legs x

            1. Sounds like a great idea. I’m currently in a cafe with the bright sun streaming in the window. Enjoy your after-work walk!

    1. I love these photos, Jacquie. You’re right – every season has its loveliness. I adore the colours of autumn. And is there anything better than being inside on a cold winter’s day, the rain slipping down the windows, book in hand and mug of tea close by? Then Spring provides its welcome warmth and foliage. I’m probably not the greatest fan of scorching summer heat but I love the lazy atmosphere of summer – long days, no school, cricket on the TV…

      1. Thanks so much, Carolyn! ๐Ÿ˜€

Ooh definitely, those wintery days are some of my absolute favourites for sure. I’m also not a huge fan of the heat we have here in summer but I agree about the lazy quality those days seem to have. Plus my birthday and Christmas and New Years! So much to celebrate!

Thank you for dropping by. Have a great day!
