A Snapshot of Two Cities #4

19:07, 8/8/2015, Nanjing, China

This man is the epitome of relaxation. His care factor is 0 and I love it. I also love that Isabel snapped a cheeky photo of him while he was sleeping, though, I suppose if you choose to fall asleep on a restaurant bench you’re probably asking for it!

This was taken up in the ever-scenic Tecoma on quite a chilly day. You can see some wispy clouds drifting over the mountain and the overcast sky. I can also confirm that there were lots of wood fires burning in people’s homes – that’s gotta be the best smell ever, right?

A Snapshot of Two Cities is a collaborative project between myself and Isabel from Nanjing Nian. We take a photo of something that catches our eye each week and post the photos on our blogs. We hope you enjoy looking at the differences and similarities between the two cities and cultures, and also just some pretty pictures. You can read more about it in the first posting.

Another great week (is it once a week?). I really love how ‘wintery’ your photo is. Totally how it feels here too. And I like that there is a bird in both of your photos 🙂

It surely is once a week! I was pretty happy with my photo. I just wish I’d brought my actual camera with me as it would have turned out crisper than it did on my phone camera but I think it still looks good. And I’m glad I was just able to grab the shot somehow. It was so cold, I could smell wood fires burning, there was mist everywhere – so lovely. I really do like winter.

You’re right about the birds! I didn’t even notice that – how blind am I?! Thanks for commenting, Laura! 🙂

You didn’t notice the birds, Jacquie? That was the first thing I noticed – and they’re right in the same part of the photos. One fake, one real. That was my favourite part! I can almost smell the word fires and feel the mist from Nanjing…just love your pic x

I really didn’t! I’m starting to feel really stupid now haha 😛 It seems so obvious now when I look at them! I did see you mention the bird thing in your FB post and was a bit confused. I just thought you were maybe talking about the real bird in my photo and the “bird” part of “birdandfox”. Haha talk about over-thinking things. So silly.

Thank you! I love those chilly days and it’s just so picturesque up there. x
